Gate Security Officer (Residential Estate)

You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Bloemfontein, and log every visitor properly. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at an office tower in Bloemfontein. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Alert, polite and firm with the public

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Stable long-term site contracts
