Gate Security Officer (Residential Estate) – Permanent

You'll control who comes in and out of a private school campus in Mokopane, and log every visitor properly. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Mokopane-based, with most of your time spent at a private school campus. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it

• Clean criminal record
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• Put your PSIRA number and grade right under your name. Recruiters check it on the PSIRA system before they even phone you.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
