Head Waiter (Family Restaurant)

You'll look after tables at a family steakhouse in Isando, from the first greeting to the final bill. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Isando-based, with most of your time spent at a family steakhouse.

• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.

• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift

• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• Responsible Service of Alcohol training

• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Staff meal on every shift
