Job Description

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this road construction project in Vanderbijlpark. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a road construction project in Vanderbijlpark. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014

You'll need

Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
First Aid Level 1 at least

Extra points for

ISO 45001 internal auditor course
Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
