Industrial Relations Practitioner

You'll handle the full HR cycle for an agricultural pack house in Epping, from hiring to hearings. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Epping, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Consult with shop stewards and attend union meetings.
• Chair or initiate disciplinary hearings and write up the outcome.
• Run onboarding, contracts and probation reviews for new staff.
• Run exit interviews and report turnover each quarter.
• Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.
• Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.
• Update HR policies when labour law changes.

• A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
• CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
• Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
• Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles

• Company car or travel allowance for site visits

• Name the bargaining councils or unions you have dealt with, as sector knowledge often decides the shortlist.
• Prepare for a case-study question on dismissing an employee fairly, and walk through procedure and substance.
