IT Intern (Support Desk)

Get hands-on support experience at a call centre campus in Stellenbosch, from password resets to new laptop builds. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Stellenbosch; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues

• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users

• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management

• Clear path to second-line and systems roles
• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Company laptop and cellphone
• Paid certification exams after probation

• List your certifications right under your name; A+ and ITIL are common keyword filters.
• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
