IT Intern (Support Desk) – Entry Level

A corporate head office in Umlazi needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a corporate head office on the Umlazi side of KwaZulu-Natal. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID

• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365

• ITIL Foundation
• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management

• Company laptop and cellphone
• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
