Java Developer (Banking Systems)

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a fintech start-up in Midrand. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a fintech start-up in Midrand. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
• Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
• Document how your features work for support and new developers
• Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
• Pair with junior developers to unblock them
• Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
• Experience writing automated tests
• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people

• Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
• Public GitHub portfolio or published app
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
