Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a bank's digital channels team in Roodepoort. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a bank's digital channels team in Roodepoort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning

You'll need

Experience writing automated tests
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Helpful, not essential

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
