Job Description

Keep transfers, bonds and cancellations moving at a property development law firm in Cape Town CBD. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Cape Town CBD, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

  • Run Deeds Office searches and title deed checks
  • Update agents, banks and clients on file progress on the bank portal and by email
  • Request bond cancellation figures and guarantees from banks
  • Open transfer files from signed offers to purchase and check the terms
  • Prepare final statements of account and pay out on registration
  • Prepare deeds of transfer, powers of attorney and bond documents

You'll need

  • Clear, polite updates to anxious buyers and sellers
  • At least 2 years of conveyancing or bond work
  • Admission as a conveyancer for conveyancer posts
  • Knowledge of bank panel instruction portals and LAWtrust digital signing

Nice if you have

  • Sectional title and new development experience
  • Notarial bonds and servitudes

What you get

  • Registration bonus per file at some firms
  • Paid conveyancing short courses
  • Parking or taxi allowance for Deeds Office runs
  • Normal office hours with rare weekend work

Applying, step by step

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): conveyancing course certificate plus conveyancer admission certificate if applying as a conveyancer.
  3. Use the form on this page. It takes about two minutes and you don't need to upload anything yet.
  4. Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 8 working days.
