Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and a fiduciary and trust company in Hammarsdale needs you to sort it. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Keep client tax files complete for five years

Must-haves

Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA

Extra points for

Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
