Laundry Attendant (Lodge) – Entry Level

Housekeeping keeps a bush lodge in Stellenbosch running quietly in the background. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Stellenbosch-based, with most of your time spent at a bush lodge. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Hand in lost property with a written log entry.
• Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.
• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.

• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift

• Monthly award for best room scores
• Meals on duty
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• A clean, clear police clearance helps; mention it if you have a recent one.
