Job Description

Housekeeping keeps a casino hotel in Kempton Park running quietly in the background. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a casino hotel in Kempton Park. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.
Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.
Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.

You'll need

Weekend and public holiday work
Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day
You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
Grade 10 or higher

Helpful, not essential

Laundry machine and steam press experience
Basic first aid certificate
Chemical handling training
