Job Description

Start in retail here: a neighbourhood supermarket in George trains packers who show up and work neat. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a neighbourhood supermarket in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips

What you need

Available for weekends, month-end and public holidays
Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
Basic reading and maths for price checks
Able to stand and lift cases all shift

Extra points for

Being 18 or older for liquor store roles
Previous shelf packing or merchandising work
Some till or cash-handling experience
