Job Description

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a furniture retailer warehouse in Cape Town CBD wants. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a furniture retailer warehouse in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading

You'll need

Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
Willing to travel on routes that return late
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

What's in it for you

Help to get your own licence through the company later
Meal allowance on long-route days
Route-completion incentives in busy months

How to apply

Make sure the role, the hours and working in Cape Town CBD really suit you before you apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): clear copy of your ID with a certification stamp, CV noting any loading, moving or delivery work plus police clearance if you already have one.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 5 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Cape Town CBD.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Before you hit apply

If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
