Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny

Steady household work in a retired couple's cottage in Somerset West, with clear days and hours agreed upfront. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a retired couple's cottage in Somerset West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Change bed linen and make beds
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week

• South African ID or valid work permit
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Able to speak and understand basic English

• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Transport money for live-out staff

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
