Job Description

Machines set the pace at this industrial bakery in East London; you keep up and catch the faults. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is an industrial bakery on the East London side of Eastern Cape.

What you'll actually do

Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers

Must-haves

No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Available for rotating day and night shifts
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
You follow hygiene rules without being reminded

Helpful, not essential

Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
Some basic first-aid training
