Mall Control Room Operator – Immediate Start

Night or day, a vehicle tracking control centre in Tembisa never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Tembisa-based, with most of your time spent at a vehicle tracking control centre. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard

• Call centre work in the past
• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform

• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Training on the monitoring software
• Shift allowance for nights

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
