Management Accountant (Retail Group)

A national retail chain head office in Pinetown needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Pinetown. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Completed articles at an audit firm
