Merchandiser (Grocery Rep Route)

Start in retail here: a neighbourhood supermarket in Secunda trains packers who show up and work neat. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Location: Secunda, Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Unpack deliveries in the receiving area and sort by aisle
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves
• Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables

• Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
• Polite with customers and happy to help
• Basic reading and maths for price checks
• Available for weekends, month-end and public holidays

• Staff discount on groceries
• Paid training in store procedures
• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Travel allowance on merchandising routes

• Hand your CV in at the store in person, early in the week, and ask for the store or receiving manager by name.
• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
