Metallurgical Sampler – Entry Level

Plant work suits people who watch the numbers and react fast. The iron ore beneficiation plant near Mbombela needs you. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an iron ore beneficiation plant in Mbombela. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk

• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science

• Forklift or overhead crane licence
• N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy

• Shift allowances and overtime
• Learnership opportunities toward a metallurgy qualification
