Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D)

The gate at a gated residential estate in Stellenbosch is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a gated residential estate on the Stellenbosch side of Western Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• Previous experience at a similar site type
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers

• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
