Paint Preparer (Body Shop) – Fixed-Term

Straight panels, perfect colour match: that is the job at this independent panel shop in Mamelodi. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Mamelodi-based, with most of your time spent at an independent panel shop. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Cut and polish to remove dust marks and orange peel
• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Pull and straighten chassis damage on a measuring jig
• Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor
• Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods
• Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim
• Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder

• Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work

• Experience as a workshop controller in a body shop
• Aluminium and high-strength steel repair training
• ADAS camera and sensor recalibration after repairs

• Before-and-after photos are your best proof. Keep them on your phone, ready to show at the interview.
• Say which paint systems you have used, like waterborne base coat with a 2K clear. Body shops care about this.
