Panel Beater (Accident Repair Centre) – Fixed-Term

Straight panels, perfect colour match: that is the job at this fleet repair centre in Vanderbijlpark. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Vanderbijlpark. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim
• Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface
• Strip damaged panels, bumpers and trims and bag the fixings
• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor

• Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
• A portfolio or references from previous body shops
• Good colour vision and a steady hand
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
• Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use

• Measuring jig and electronic measuring experience
• Experience as a workshop controller in a body shop

• Full respirator and spray suit supplied
• Paint supplier training courses
• Clean, modern booth and prep area

• Say which paint systems you have used, like waterborne base coat with a 2K clear. Body shops care about this.
• Before-and-after photos are your best proof. Keep them on your phone, ready to show at the interview.
