Part-Time Bookkeeper (Small Business)

Recons that balance and suppliers who get paid right: that's the job at a wholesale distributor in Tzaneen. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Tzaneen-based, with most of your time spent at a wholesale distributor.

• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items

• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Matric with Accounting

• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Office hours with no weekend work

• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
• Name the accounting packages you use daily in your CV headline, such as "Sage Pastel Partner, Xero, Excel".
