Paving Team Labourer

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a townhouse construction site in Kempton Park can keep building. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Kempton Park-based, with most of your time spent at a townhouse construction site. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
• Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
• Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
• Clear rubble and load it into skips
• Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer

• Prepared to travel between sites in the area
• A clean record is preferred for some government sites
• Grade 8 or higher
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan

• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
• Paid weekly or fortnightly
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days

• If a foreman can vouch for you, put their number on your CV. Site hiring runs on word of mouth.
• List past sites by name and what you did there, like "mixed concrete, laid kerbs". It proves you have done real site work.
