Job Description

This retail head office in Umlazi needs someone who knows payroll tax and SARS inside out. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What your day looks like

Calculate leave pay, notice pay and severance on terminations.
Prepare EMP501 reconciliations and issue IRP5 certificates twice a year.
Reconcile medical aid, pension and provident fund schedules.
Declare UIF on uFiling and assist staff with UI-19 forms.
Run the payroll, check variances and get sign-off before cut-off.
Submit the monthly EMP201 on SARS eFiling and pay PAYE, UIF and SDL.

Must-haves

Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA
Trusted with confidential salary data
At least 2 years running a full payroll end to end
You triple-check figures before anything is paid
Strong Excel, especially VLOOKUP and pivot tables
SARS eFiling and EMP501 reconciliations without supervision

Helpful, not essential

SAPA (South African Payroll Association) membership or certification
Bargaining council levy and wage-rate experience
