Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

Work under a registered pharmacist at a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Ballito and keep the dispensary running smoothly. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Ballito-based, with most of your time spent at a pharmacy inside a supermarket. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day

• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation

• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course

• Fixed rota published a month ahead
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items

• Mention your daily script volume, such as "dispensed 150+ scripts a day"; it shows you can handle pressure.
