Registered Nurse (Night Duty)

You'll run patient care on a busy shift at a private maternity unit in Pinetown, from admission to discharge. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Pinetown; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly
• Keep clinical notes clear, timed and signed for audits and legal records
• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients
• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls

• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• Clean criminal record
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Valid BLS certificate; ACLS or PALS for ICU and emergency posts
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route

• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay

• List your speciality skills in plain words, such as "ventilated patients" or "normal deliveries", instead of just the ward name.
• Put your SANC number and the units you've worked in at the very top of your CV; recruiters filter on these first.
