Job Description

An e-commerce platform in Gqeberha needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at an e-commerce platform in Gqeberha. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

What you need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases

Nice if you have

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
