Software Engineer (Insurance Core Systems) – Immediate Start

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an insurance company software team in Gqeberha. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Gqeberha. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
• Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
• Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
• Write unit and integration tests before you merge

• Experience writing automated tests
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

• Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
• Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
