Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a software development house in Krugersdorp. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Krugersdorp; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Document how your features work for support and new developers

What you need

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Experience writing automated tests
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages

Helpful, not essential

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
