Job Description

You'll run the crushers, mills and cells that turn ore into product at the coal washing plant near Montague Gardens. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a coal washing plant on the Montague Gardens side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens
Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report

Must-haves

Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
At least 1 year operating a processing plant
Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs

Extra points for

N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
Laboratory or sampling experience
