Job Description

Questions come to you at a microlender in Worcester, and you answer them with data. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a microlender on the Worcester side of Western Cape.

The work, day to day

Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Check data quality and trace odd numbers back to the source
Write SQL to pull, join and clean data from several sources
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions

You'll need

Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
Advanced Excel
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Careful with sensitive customer data
