Production Assistant (Chemical Blending) – Immediate Start

Machines set the pace at this meat processing plant in Durban Central; you keep up and catch the faults. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number

• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded

• Some basic first-aid training
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
