Job Description

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a container unpacking yard in Pinetown wants. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a container unpacking yard on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first

You'll need

Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
Friendly with customers at the door
Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
No criminal record
Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips

Nice if you have

Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
Basic furniture assembly skills
Past work as a driver's assistant

On offer

Route-completion incentives in busy months
Uniform and safety shoes provided
Help to get your own licence through the company later
Meal allowance on long-route days

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: clear copy of your ID with a certification stamp plus police clearance if you already have one.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 8 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Pinetown.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
