Job Description

You'll keep the line running at a plastic moulding plant in Bellville, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a plastic moulding plant in Bellville. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

  • Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
  • Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
  • Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
  • Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
  • Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
  • Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card

You'll need

  • Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
  • You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
  • Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
  • No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
  • Available for rotating day and night shifts

Helpful, not essential

  • Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
  • Some basic first-aid training

What's in it for you

  • Path to machine operator after six months
  • Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
  • Company transport on some night shifts
  • Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay

Applying, step by step

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Keep copies of these ready to send: your latest school results or matric certificate plus CV listing any factory or packing work, even short-term.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 7 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Bellville; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

  • Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
  • Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
