Job Description

Hard, outdoor work on a fire protection association near Newcastle, with training on chainsaws and fire safety. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Stack logs by length for loading onto trucks
Apply herbicide around young trees as instructed
Feed logs into sawmill machines and stack planks
Clear and maintain firebreaks during the dry season
Sharpen and service chainsaws daily

What you need

Available for early starts and fire-season standby
Follows safety rules strictly around machines and fires
Physically strong and fit for steep slopes
Willing to work in remote areas
Valid ID

Helpful, not essential
