Job Description

Timber keeps rural towns working, and an eucalyptus plantation near Polokwane is hiring crews. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The site is in Polokwane; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What your day looks like

Wear chainsaw chaps, helmets and ear protection at all times
Sharpen and service chainsaws daily
Fell, debranch and cross-cut trees with a chainsaw
Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders
Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader

What you need

Follows safety rules strictly around machines and fires
Physically strong and fit for steep slopes
Able to work in a crew and follow the crew leader
Valid ID
