Reception Security Officer (Office Tower) – Experienced

Residents and staff at a construction yard in Ballito need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a construction yard on the Ballito side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed

• Speaks and writes basic English
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clean criminal record
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Physically fit for foot patrols

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
