Reception Security Officer (Office Tower)

The gate at a distribution warehouse in Polokwane is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a distribution warehouse in Polokwane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
