Retail Security Officer (Clothing Store)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a building-supplies store in Johannesburg CBD before they cost jobs. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a building-supplies store in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
• Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft

• Able to handle confrontation calmly
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
• Discreet, observant and honest
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends

• Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)
