Roller Operator (Layerworks) – Experienced

The pipeline and trenching company in Bethlehem needs an operator who looks after the machine as well as the job. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Bethlehem (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Park the machine on level ground and lock it when you knock off
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor
• Load tipper trucks without spillage or overloading
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet

• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle

• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
