Job Description

You'll operate heavy mining machines on shift at the underground platinum mine using trackless mobile machinery near Tzaneen. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Tzaneen (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules
Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team
Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump

Must-haves

Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred

What you get

Shift allowance for night and weekend shifts
Annual performance bonus
Company bus from nearby towns to the mine gate
Medical aid subsidy

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): certificate of fitness, if current, ID copy, certified and clear plus machine operator certificates.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 8 working days, usually by phone.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Tzaneen; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Before you hit apply

Name the exact machine class and size you operated, like "100-ton rigid dump truck". Mines hire by machine.
Put your operator certificate expiry dates on the CV. Expired tickets are the top reason operators get filtered out.
