Job Description

Get off the road and into the control office at a distribution depot in George. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is George-based, with most of your time spent at a distribution depot.

What you'll actually do

Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest

What you need

Good with Excel and email
Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
At least 2 years in transport or logistics
Calm and decisive when things go wrong
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

Nice if you have

Logistics or supply chain certificate
Transport management system (TMS) experience
Knowledge of cross-border documentation
