Seasonal Fruit Picker (Citrus Harvest) – Immediate Start

Harvest time on a citrus farm near Phalaborwa means early mornings, full crates and paid overtime. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Phalaborwa. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Tie up tomato and pepper plants in tunnels
• Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown
• Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages
• Clean and store picking bags, ladders and secateurs
• Follow the re-entry times after spraying, as the signs show
• Pick fruit or vegetables at the right ripeness and size, gently
• Weed beds by hand or with a hoe

• Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain
• Valid ID or work permit
• Willing to start at sunrise
• Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
• Available for the full harvest season

• Previous harvest or picking experience
• Pruning experience on vines or fruit trees

• Seasonal accommodation on some farms
• Piece-rate bonus on top of daily wage

• Chance of a permanent post after good seasons

• If you have picked before, say which crop and how many seasons. Farms rehire experienced pickers first.
• Farms hire before the season starts, so apply four to six weeks early. Late arrivals often find the teams already full.
