Security Dispatcher (Armed Response)

From a chair in a remote video monitoring centre in Kempton Park, you guide officers in the field to where they are needed. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Kempton Park (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Matric

• Call centre work in the past
• Speaking more than one local language
• CCTV operator short course

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Shift allowance for nights

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
