Job Description

You'll run weekly and monthly payrolls for a manufacturing group in Potchefstroom, accurate to the cent. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a manufacturing group on the Potchefstroom side of North West. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Prepare EMP501 reconciliations and issue IRP5 certificates twice a year.
Capture new hires, terminations and changes on Sage 300 People or VIP.
Calculate leave pay, notice pay and severance on terminations.
Import clock-card data and check overtime against the BCEA limits.
Submit the monthly EMP201 on SARS eFiling and pay PAYE, UIF and SDL.

You'll need

Matric plus a payroll, bookkeeping or HR qualification
Trusted with confidential salary data
Strong Excel, especially VLOOKUP and pivot tables
At least 2 years running a full payroll end to end
Hands-on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay
You triple-check figures before anything is paid

Extra points for

Bargaining council levy and wage-rate experience
SAPA (South African Payroll Association) membership or certification
Multi-company or multi-country payroll exposure
