Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: an e-commerce platform in George. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is an e-commerce platform on the George side of Western Cape. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work

Must-haves

Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Extra points for

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Docker and Kubernetes experience
