Job Description

A logistics software company in George needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in George. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Document how your features work for support and new developers
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind

You'll need

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Experience writing automated tests
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Docker and Kubernetes experience
